The number 800 290 290, set up by the Department for Equal Opportunities is active every day of the week, 24 hours a day, throughout the national territory, to encourage the emergence of the phenomenon and support victims, offering information on the possibilities of help and assistance and putting in contact with local services. The service is available in several languages including English, Albanian, Russian, French, Spanish, Romanian, Hungarian, Arabic, Chinese and Nigerian.
          The following projects, founded by DPO, are carried out by public or private social bodies (registered in the appropriate section of the register of associations and bodies carrying out activities in favour of immigrants), with the general objective of bringing out and combating trafficking and serious exploitation of human beings and promoting assistance and support for victims (source):
